Music inspires art and art inspires music! I originally thought of the name "Circuitry and Soul" in 2008, as a title for an image I did that was inspired by the words of a wise Icelandic singer. Bjork said "If there is no soul in the computer, then it's because no one has put it there" Well, I want to put it there! I've always loved doing visual art but I also like experimenting with sounds and music. In 2013 "Circuitry and Soul" became the name I use to represent my music. The basic concept of Circuitry and Soul's music is that of a melancholic Human man who has cheated death and a melancholic woman robot making music together. He needed a girl with a certain kind of voice to sing with his experimental electronic music. He eventually became so desperate that he built a beautiful woman robot to sing with his music. Many of the songs are based on this theme. Voltina may have electrons flowing throughout her body but her voice has become an important part of Circuitry and Soul's sound.
Special thanks to Antje of Almudena-Stock for allowing me to transform her into my musical-robot. She's the perfect Voltina!
She makes a beautiful robot and an even more beautiful model with her own very unique and creative style! Her style and expression often seems as if she's in deep thought or a melancholic mood and that's one of the reasons why I like her photos. The madman musician designed Voltina and her voice specifically to match his melancholic music and so Antje was perfect. Her poses, expressions and all of her work is not only creative, it always conveys a lot of real feeling and is always original and tasteful.
